Susannah Heath-Eves
A passion for travel, adventure and humanity are leading Susannah to Rwanda during May and June. A love for writing and taking photographs led her to Ottawa, where she is entering her second year of the Master of Journalism program at the Carleton University School of Journalism.
Susannah hopes to make a positive impact in
Rwanda, no matter how small. She’s looking forward to
working with Rwandan reporters and learning from the people
she meets.
The Calgary native grew up in the Rocky Mountains,
where she spent her days skiing, hiking, canoeing and rock
climbing. Two years into a degree in outdoor pursuits at the
University of Calgary, she switched gears and graduated with
a BA in English literature at Carleton.
Susannah’s appetite for adventure took
her backpacking in South East Asia, the UK, France and Australia.
Rwanda will be her biggest adventure yet, and she welcomes
the challenges ahead. Susannah has freelanced for local magazines
and newspapers in Ottawa, and she has interned at Capital
Publishers, the Ottawa Citizen and CTV Ottawa. She hopes her
experience in Rwanda will move her one step closer to a career
in TV reporting and making documentaries.
