Huguette Young

Huguette Young is a veteran journalist who has worked on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for a francophone news agency and more recently for Time Magazine, CBC, Radio-Canada and Télévision française de l'Ontario.

She has also been a lecturer at Carleton's School of Journalism and Communication for four years, teaching news writing to third-year university students.

Her interest in international and development issues has taken her to Thailand as part of a scholarship with la Fédération des journalistes professionnels du Québec.

Throughout her career, she has taken a keen interest in Francophonie issues: les sommets de la Francophonie, diversité culturelle, accords de coopération, language and education rights.

Most recently, she has been teaching ethics at la Cité collégiale, a francophone college in Ottawa.

Young has a master’s degree in political science from the University of Ottawa and an undergraduate degree in translation from English to French.
